ABOUT
Meg Ellard
BA(Psych), MTeach(EC), MCPT.
Meg is a qualified Play Therapist, who completed her Masters of Child Play Therapy degree at Deakin University.
Meg is also an accomplished Early Childhood Teacher and Educational Consultant who has worked across a multitude of kindergartens and early learning services in the past decade.
During her time working as a Early Childhood teacher, Meg has worked in nature based pedagogy kindergartens, where natural items are used within the kindergarten program every day. Meg has established a successful ‘Bush Kindergarten’ program at one of her previous kindergartens, and is passionate about supporting children to play in untamed nature spaces.
Meg returned to study to upskill to being a play therapist due to her passion for inclusive practices for all children and families, as well trauma informed teaching and pedagogy.
Meg has experience working with children who are neurodiverse including ADHD and Autism, as well as children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Meg promotes neurodiverse affirming practices in her therapy programs, and has her own lived experience of neurodiversity. Meg is also passionate about supporting children and young people who are members of the LGBTQI+ community and those who are gender diverse.
Meg is also highly passionate about the therapeutic power of playing in nature.
